Old Poems

I found some old poems of mine that i had written and i was going to add some of them on here but they are all so depressing that i dont want to add them as it isint how i feel now.

Below is the only one i could find that seems even a little nice

Cars rushing past
But the night is still
not many sounds
not even a twill
for the sun hasent risen
no birds singing out
to welcome the day
of beauty and bounce

World of Warcraft, how gold is made to sell

Playing World of Warcraft you often see people trying to sell gold to players in the game, i found this article which says how some of the gold

A 54-year-old former prison guard, was jailed for three years for illegallypetitioning the Chinese government to crack down on corruption. By day,Liu was forced to labour in the Jexi labor camp in northeast China, breaking rocks in coal mines, carving chopsticks and toothpicks out of planks of wood, and assembling car seat covers.

But after hours, he had more work to do "gold farming." Liu says prisoners are forced to buildup credits in online games such as World of Warcraft The credits are then sold to gamers overseas for real cash.

Prison bosses made more money forcing inmates to play games than they do forcing people to do manual labour," Liu told the Guardian. "There were 300 prisoners forced to play games. They worked 12-hour shifts in the camp. It was heard they could earn 5,000-6,000rmb [£470-570] a day. The prisoners didn't see any of the money though.

Stagnant Water

Again my mind has been working overtime this time to do with why when you see water that has been sitting around for awhile has a skin on it

First i had to find out what the skin was and well its just simple old Algae.

In general algae can be referred to as plant-like organisms that are usually photosynthetic and aquatic, do not have true roots, stems, leaves, vascular tissue and have simple reproductive structures.
They are distributed worldwide in the sea, in freshwater and in moist situations on land. Most are microscopic, but some are quite large.
For Algae to grow it needs a mixture of temperature, humidity, sunlight, and nutrients (food).

Algae of course isint dangerous it just looks and can small bad.

While searching i found that there are 8 different types of Algae

  • Diatoms: unicellular organisms of the kingdom protista, characterized by a silica shell of often intricate and beautiful sculpturing
  • Chlorophyta: division of the kingdom of protista consisting of the photosyntetic organism commonly known as green algae.
  • Euglenophyta: small phylum of the kingdom protista, consisting of mostly unicellular aguatic algae.
  • Dinoflagellata: large group of flagellate protistis. Some species are heterotrophic, but many are photosynthetic organisms containing chlorophyll.
  • Chrysophyta: large group of eukariotyes algae commonly called golden algae, found mostly in freshwater.
  • Phaeophyta: phylum of the kingdom protista consisting of those organisms commonly called brown algae.
  • Rhodophyta: phylum of the kingdom protista consisting of the photosynthetic organisms commonly known as red algae.
  • Cyanobacteria: phylum of prokaryotic aguatic bacteria that obtain their energy through photosynthesis. They are often referred to as blue-green algae
So now you know what that skin or slime whenever you see stagnant water, another thing i dont have to wonder about anymore.

Link to the page i got some of this information from.

Cajun Chicken

Cause its winter in Australia i was looking around and found a recipe of something i havent cooked for years, the name on it was Cajun Chicken it is made with black eyed beans so you dont seem to use alot of chicken anyhow here is the recipe here I used chicken wings and you could have 1-2 wings per person which i cut in half coat the chicken with mix of:

(this coating is for around 4 pieces of chicken)
  • 1 teaspoon Chilli
  • 1 teaspoon Sweet Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Flour
to go into the pot
  • 1/2 bunch of celery
  • 2 capsicum
  • 3 onions
  • 3-4 cloves of garlic
  • 2 litres chicken stock
  • Tomato paste to taste
  • 450g can chopped/crushed tomato's
  • 1 bag pre-soaked black eyed beans (the suggestion on the packet is soak overnight or cook them in heated water before using for cooking)
Method Add some oil to a pot Partially cook the chicken so the coating flavour stays in the bottom of the pot, Remove chicken Put in celery, capsicum, onion and garlic cook till collapses (takes about 10-15 mins) Add tomato paste, tomato's and chicken stock simmer for awhile Add pre-cooked beans and re-add chicken Simmer for around 20-25 minutes till chicken cooked Serve

Succinctly Yours – Week 11

Succinctly Yours – Week 11

I thought i would try again at writing a short story from Grandma Goulash page, cant harm me and well as ive said before it can be fun trying to think of something to write to the picture

These are the rules

Use the photo as inspiration for a story of 140 characters OR 140 words. It doesn’t have to be exactly 140, just not more.

Want more challenge? Use the word of the week in your story. This part is optional.

This weeks word is Ponder

This is what i wrote

Here you see two men and a women

Which of the men do you think is the one to

ponder if the women’s skirt would go down as low as that chart
