Was I born at the wrong time

Lately I've been wondering if was born at the wrong time.

But then it could have to do with the age of my parents had me my mum bring 36 and my dad 43, these days the ages may be normal for a child being born but not in 1964.

The reason I've been thinking this is how i cringe at times when people around me talk about certain things like sex.

I am pretty open talking about sex as long as it is sex but lately i have had people around me say my breasts look a certain way and how i have a box and crude stuff like that

To me you don't talk like that around a female it's rude, derogative, puts women down and plain disgusting

I have other females around me who laugh and giggle about it, i ignore it. The last time it was said this man had his children around him and i just ignored what was being said, his child turned around and said dad i think she didn't hear with the man saying oh she heard which i admitted i had, he later apolgised and said how he was playing around

What i think i will do is think of some things i can say back at him and see how he takes being spoken to in the same vein, i know he wont notice but i will be happy if i can get a reaction from him

EDIT:
These are some insults i may use on him, now to memorize them

Anyone who told you to be yourself couldn`t have given you worse advice.

Don`t you have a terribly empty feeling - in your skull?

I don`t think you are a fool. But then what`s MY opinion against thousands of others?

Sorry I`m busy right now. Can I ignore you some other time?

I bet if your brain was chocolate it wouldn`t fill an M&M.

Go ahead, tell them everything you know. It`ll only take 10 seconds.

He is living proof that man can live without a brain!

Had no Computer Screen

I know i havent written in my blog for awhile and when i was going to my computer screen decided to die on me, not sure which part of it died the cord going from monitor to computer or the connection that went into the tower of the computer ( it had a double connection) .

Instead of working out which part of the cord was not working and having to buy a new cord and/or connection i decided to just get a new screen

I now have a 24 inch LCD Monitor where before i had a 21 inch CRT Monitor.

It took a little to get used to as the screen is wide and not high which is what im used too. From Friday night to Monday afternoon i couldnt use this computer so everything i would have done got put back which is why i am writing today

I went from a screen like this

To this screen

Poem of sometimes how i feel

Im a ball of confusion

Wound tight with no ends

My thoughts never allowed

To really comprehend

To afraid to speak what my voice wants to say

Hiding my true self

It dosent fit where I lay

Even writing this I will hide

Who is really the true me

The layers ive put up

To hard to push in

Don’t know if I will ever

Let true self out

Will people understand me

Or will I forever have to stay dumbed down

Seems my year to get ill

For years i go can along and not get ill once, only 4 months have passed this year and ive been ill twice, first i did something to my eye this time i got a common cold.

I was trying to find what happens to your body when you get a cold and i couldnt really find anything i did find the following though which sorta explains it

The common cold is a rhinovirus that affects the cells in the upper respiratory tract. Once it affects the cells, you want to sneeze and cough as it triggers the reflexes.

Unlike other respiratory viruses that kick off the interferon system to fight infection, rhinoviruses interfere with interferon production. Why is this important? Because as the result of this evasion strategy, you get a runny nose and fever, caused by the innate immune system's inflammatory reaction to the virus, rather than the flu-like symptoms you would get if you had the flu.

Because rhinoviruses are cytolytic (e.g. they kills the cells they infect), the innate system is on the lookout for excess cell death. Once it sees this happening, the innate system is so powerful, that it can eradicate the virus within a couple /few days.

The cough is from a natural process in the body called the "mucosal escalator".

There are 2-version, the 'up' and 'down' versions.

  • In the 'down' version, which is relevant here, the mucus from the nasal cavity is moved 'down' to be swallowed. Once in the stomach, it's destroyed.

This sounds good, right? Well...not so.

When getting moved down, the temperature cools.

And what does rhinoviruses look for so they can replicate? Cool temperatures.

Hence, the escalator actually helps the virus spread. Fortunately, the virus is also a weakling and the immune system can handle it at this point.

You feel weak because the immune system is fighting a battle. Generally though a cold will make you feel more miserable rather than weak.

Another way to look at it

You get a runny nose as the result of increased mucus production in the sinus and nasal passages. The increased production of mucus is usually the result of the body attempting to clear cold or flu viruses or irritants and allergens from the body.

You cough because you are clearing mucus from your lungs

You feel tired and hot from your body fighting the germs

Paul Baran an Internet innovator

One of the men behind the Internet, Paul Baran died at the age of 84 on March 28 2011.

Without him maybe the internet wouldnt work as it does, Mr Baran first put forward the idea of slicing data into "message blocks" and using a distributed system of nodes to pass them on when working at the Rand Corporation in the mid-1960s.
He was one of the first people to work out the idea of splitting data being sent over communications networks into chunks, or "message blocks", which would offset traffic surges and help protect the network from attack. Arpanet the science network was later based upon this approach.

The work was originally done as part of a project to keep telecommunications networks operating even if a large part of them was knocked out by a first strike nuclear attack during the cold war which luckily didnt happen.

A British scientist, Donald Davies, further developed the idea and the result was what we now call packet switching, a vital technical concept that underlies what we call the Internet.

Paul Baran's son David Baran said how his father had recently shown him a paper written in 1966 which speculated about what people would do with the telecommunication networks in the future. It spelled out this idea that by the year 2000 people would be using online networks for shopping and the news.

It goes to show that one person can make a difference in the world

Henna Tattoo

I went to an event the other day and there was a lady doing Henna tattoo's on hands so i went and got my left hand done i think it looks pretty and a great way to have a tattoo

Henna tattooing is also known as Mehndi, what Henna does is stain the outer layers of the epidermis and the skin exfoliates so after 2-3 weeks depending on how deep the stain went and how much you wash your hands it will stand to come off. I got black henna done and im reading how black henna isint very good to use as you could get scared from your body not liking the additive to make it black, we shall see what happens and well if it happens i will just go to a doctors straight away.

Henna is made from
  • a plant called lawsonia inermis which is grounded into a powder
  • an acidic liquid like fresh lemon or lime juice
  • sugar
  • and maybe some essential oil
To make
  • Spoon henna powder in a clear glass bowl.
  • Slowly add small amounts of acidic liquid to the henna powder. Use a spoon to mix thoroughly.
  • When all of the henna powder has been moistened, it will be a very thick paste. Spread it out in the bowl.
  • Cover bowl with cling wrap and set in a dark, warm spot (NOT in the sun and NOT directly on a heat source)
  • Leave the bowl for 4-8 hours, until you can see dye release on the surface of the thick henna paste
  • When it's ready, stir it up with a spoon.
  • Optional: Add a few drops of essential oil.
  • Mix in the sugar.
  • Carefully add small amounts of acidic liquid and blend thoroughly. The final consistency should be like toothpaste or yogurt.
  • Let your mixed paste sit for an hour or two before using. Or you can put it immediately into the freezer. (Fresh henna paste will demise rapidly if left unfrozen
