Craft

I often make things, but never add any pictures of what i make on the internet, I suppose because i am worried people wont like them.

Using Entrecard i often see all these things people make, and often a person wont accept my add as my Blog has nothing to do with what their Blog is about.

So i will be rectifying that i will start to add some pictures and descriptions of the craft items i make.

The sort of things i can do are Cross Stitch, Embroidery, Long Stitch, Jewelery making (earrings, bracelets), making key rings, knitting. I bought some material the other day and seeing how they will look like when i make them into little bags, but some of the stuff i have been doing Lately is pretty boring i have been making curtains for my house.

Most of the things i make i have learnt to do myself, i like the challenge of making things from stuff i see lying around, some scraps of wool i had left i made little dolls for people, they are supposed to represent how i see them, i cant of course add any pictures of those as i gave them to the people after i made them.

The first few pictures will probably be some of the Cross Stitch i have hanging around at my house.

My Day

Today i woke up around 1.30pm, yes i know it is late, but then i did go to sleep around 5.30am, staying up late at night playing World of Warcraft..

My sister came over today who i haven't seen for around a year, my family is strange we love each other and stuff and i know they would be there for me if something happened, but we don't really speak to each other or see each other.

I gave my sister her Christmas present which was some Rosary Beads and a wooden vase (my sister is religious), from her i got some instant lotteries (won $2) and an address book...

Its a little warm here today more humid than anything and right now the wind is blowing really hard making one of the doors in my house keep opening and closing.

I'm just trying to work out what to do for the rest of the day, do i play World of Warcraft or do i do some craft, my head wants me to play World of Warcraft though so i might do that and do the craft later on
.
My neighbours dog got out as i was writing this so i ran out in the rain to get the dog to go back into her backyard, the dog was nervous for some reason and didnt want to move, i ended up dragging the dog towards the backyard and all is now good.

Merry Christmas

Its Christmas Day, i have woken up at 3pm after having to wait up till 5am this morning for nephew S.

Nephew S was supposed to have today off work but has had to go in leaving here around 4pm, so now im sitting here sorta like its just like any other day.

All is cool though, nephew S will be back later tonight or should i say morning again hopefully not 5am this time hehe.

Before leaving he asked me if there was anything he could buy me from a Department store that seems to open very early on Boxing Day, so when he comes back i will have a present of sorts hehehe

Merry Christmas to all, and i hope you have a good day

My Car

Yesterday my nephew turned up at my house asking could be borrow my car as he had to go to a Funeral and he couldn't get there, so i said yeah ok but bring the car back but not to late.

First--he brings the car back at around 6pm after telling me that he would be back by 2.30.

Second--when he brought the car back, the car had been in an accident, he told me that he was in the service for the person and when he came out he noticed that my car door had been hit.

What seems to have happened is that someone has backed into my car and has hit the front of the drivers front door, when you go to open the car door it springs open so it seems that the hinges on the door are stuffed as well.

A friend of my neighbour suggested i ring around to find a door and he will place the new door on for me, my nephew is going to pay for the door to be replaced.

It works out that if i went through my insurance it would cost me $500 as the person who hit my car of course didn't leave any details.

To replace the car door it will cost around $350

My car is a 2004 Holden Barina, (like the one of the left there).
New cars piss me off as all you have to do is lean on the car wrongly and it will have a dent in it.
Makes me wish i had the car i had around 10 years ago, a 1979 Holden Commodore, if anyone hit that i rarely got a mark on it, but then i do love all the mod cons that are in this car, MP3 player, the 6 Speakers , (so i could go deaf to the music in my car if i wanted too) Air-Con.

People selling at your door

I'm going have a rant here as i am starting to get sick of a certain electricity (starts with O and ends with N) company sending people around to knock on my door trying to get me to change my electricity company.

First they stand at the door and tell you that you can get a discount and am i getting one at the moment, (its none of their business if i am getting a discount).

Next you politely say to them no thankyou im not interested and they don't move, they stand there continue going on about their wonderful electricity company.
Usually it is men that are walking around trying to sell you these things, and they stand at my door and are trying to pressure sell me their stupid electricity, the person making me feel as if what i am doing is wrong and they are better then me. Half the time i cant understand a word they are saying and a few times they seem to have not understood what i have said as well.

A few years ago a different electricity company came around asking people if they wanted to change, offering them this wonderful service, saying how it is green energy and you are saving the environment, (I had a man at my door from this company telling me i didn't care about the environment as i wouldn't sign with them trying to pressure me into signing).
Two of my friends joined this company, they had loads of problems with them, the company not sending out bills and being spoken to rudely when they rang to ask where the bills where, my friends got out of the contract but they had to pay them around $100 to move back to their old service.

The thing though is that these companies trying to sell me "better electricity" are just taking my name and sending out the bill, but you still using the same electricity as you where before and the older main companies are using or looking into green energy as this website shows Integral Energy

Christmas Tree

Yesterday my Christmas Tree went up, but i never have to do it myself

What happens is i have neighbours who don't celebrate Christmas and of course children seem to love putting trees up and decorating them, so my neighbours 11 year of daughter comes over and puts it up for me.

She seems to have so much fun putting the tree together and adding the tinsel and decorations

This year she had a friend staying with her (the friend being about 10) so the friend came over as well to help.

So now my Christmas Tree is sitting in my loungeroom all decorated and i didn't really need to lift a finger, and i got to see joy and happiness on 2 little girls faces who don't usually get the chance to do these things

Earlier this month the mother came over with decorations for my house, they are now sitting on my front door and in my house.

With my neighbours not being able to decorate their house, my house is decorated by them and i dont really need do anything except watch and enjoy.

Doco My Boyfriend the Sex Tourist

I love to watch documentaries as people who read this page may notice

The one i watch last night was called "My Boyfriend the Sex Tourist Part 1" .

What it was about this week was a Holiday Resort in Venezuelan, where men can take a holiday called 'The Girlfriend Experience'. At the Total Satisfaction resort the men do what most holiday-makers do; sunbathe, sail and dine. But the guys also get to choose a girlfriend for the week, to treat them as if they where their real girlfriend

The resort is really a brothel with a difference: "Instead of providing a prostitute for just one hour a day, this gives a 24-hour experience,". When guests arrive, they pick from a line-up of prospective companions, who then move into the men's rooms as a "girlfriend for hire".

It is a fly-on-the-wall doco, which benefits from astonishingly frank and unfettered access, it follows the women as they deal with poor pay, diseased penises ("his dick looks like a corn cob," one of the staff complains) and revolting regulars such as Canadian Bob Fever: who believes the women enjoy his company.
When they arrive they tell the girls how they want to be treated, Bob who in the above picture wants the girls attention 24 hours a day, whenever he looks around she is to be there.
Another guy Bob W who came along said that he likes to not mingle with the other guests and that he wants a girl who will be able to handle that, the girl he chose was told that Bob W likes to drink diet coke with lemon and she was told that if he asked for a drink that she is to get the diet coke with lemon.

Next weeks show is going to be about Thailand, it is seen from the women's point of view, with two, hour-long documentaries reveal how sleeping with foreigners for money has become a mainstream career choice for many Third World girls.

The documentary was put together by Acclaimed director Monica Garnsey

World Aids Day

Today is World Aids Day. World Aids Day has been going since 1988, so this year is the 20th Anniversary

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the first World AIDS Day in an effort to raise public awareness about HIV/AIDS issues, including the need for support and understanding for people living with HIV/AIDS. The day is also an opportunity to highlight the need for continued development of education and prevention initiatives.

It is an appeal to all Australians to take personal responsibility in the fight to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS.

The theme’s positive approach also aims to reduce the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS. While people living with HIV face serious challenges everyday, being HIV-positive is no longer a death sentence.

Advances in medical treatment, health management, testing, support and peer education services allow HIV-positive people to live longer and healthier lives.

Safe sex is using condoms and water-based lubricants as well as a range of other things you can do during sex to help reduce the risk of catching or passing on HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) or STIs (sexually transmitted infections).

The most common way HIV and STIs are passed on is through vaginal or anal sex without a condom.

The red ribbon is an international symbol of AIDS awareness. It is worn by people all year round, and particularly around World AIDS Day, to demonstrate their support for people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS. It is also a symbol of commitment to challenge the stigma and prejudice surrounding HIV/AIDS.
With buying a red ribbon you are helping fund support services for people living with HIV/AIDS and provision of HIV/AIDS related medical and counselling services, and support and peer education groups.

Neighbour

I feel sorry for my neighbour why you may ask

She has very bad epilepsy having seizures daily, she has had her daughter (18) live with her, the daughter having a 2 year old boy.

Yesterday her daughter has told her that she is moving out on the weekend to live with a friend, the mother will be left alone in the house.
I don't think she is the type of person who can live alone, and with having the seizures she gets scared or worried when she has them i think, she often comes to my place to ring her daughter so she isint alone when having the bad seizures

In one way i think its bad that the mother is getting left alone in the house, but in another way i congratulate the daughter for moving out and moving on with her life.

The mother had a friend come over for a few hours last night as soon as she saw him she ran to him crying, i hope she feels better today.

The daughter has many friends who come over so the house is usually lively and the mother has her daughters friends come over all the time.

Will just have to watch the mother now and see how she handles things, I think i will visit her a bit more so she isn't always alone.

Nephew Gone

Last December my nephew came to stay for a few days, after being here for those few days the place he was renting with friends lease came up so he had to move, with no money he moved into my place, telling me he would be here for no more than three months.

Well it is now November, and he has finally moved out, leaving alot of his stuff here though, he moved out about 2 weeks ago and i had asked him to pack his stuff up which he hadnt done, so on Saturday i just picked everything of his up and put them in plastic garbage bags.

On Saturday morning i got a rude shock, he had somehow got into my house, after hearing some noise i got out if bed as it sounded as if someone had broken in and there he was sitting in front of this computer.

Since then i have worked out how he got in and have fixed up the problem, today at around 8am he had tried to get in again but this time couldnt, when i saw him this afternoon he told me how he had tried to get in and how he couldnt, i was laughing to myself cause he couldnt get in, but i was also thinking that other people may be able to see how he is getting in and break in while i am asleep and worse things happen, plus its not a nice feeling hearing noise of someone breaking into your house even if it is family....

Phar Lap

I was watching an old Australian movie last night about a famous Australian racehorse from the 1930's, the horse was called Phar Lap.

The name Phar Lap derives from the shared Zhuang and Thai word for lightning (Thai: ฟ้าแลบ fáa lɛ̂p, lit. 'sky flash'). Aubrey Ping suggested "farlap" as the horse's name. Telford liked the name, but changed the F to PH to create a seven letter word, which was split in two in keeping with the dominant naming pattern of Melbourne Cup winners.

He stood at 17.1 hands, he was sometimes called "Australia's wonder horse", some of his other nicknames were "The Red Terror" and "Big Red".

Tommy Woodcock was Phar Laps full time strapper, he and Phar Lap formed such a close relationship that Phar Lap would take food from no one else, often having to sleep outside Phar Lap's stall. 'Bobby', as Tom nicknamed Phar Lap, always came first. Even when Tommy married, Tom could take no more than four days off.

Sydney trainer Harry Telford was a keen student of thoroughbred bloodlines, he believed he had found a future champion in a colt that was shortly due to sell in New Zealand in 1927.

Telford was in a financial mess. He talked an American businessman living in Sydney, David J. Davis, into buying the horse. Phar Lap was foaled in Timaru, New Zealand, late in the season on 4 October 1926.

Phar Lap was bought for 160 guineas, which Telford thought was a bargin, but when being crated from ship to shore in Sydney Harbour he looked anything but a champion. Warts covered its face and there was an awkwardness.

Problems came when Davis saw his purchase. He was furious and wanted nothing to do with it. Telford and Davis struck a deal, if Telford covered the cost of training the horse, he could keep two-thirds of the winnings-if there were any.

Phar Lap finished last in the first race he entered, and he did not place in his next three races. He won his first race on April 27, 1929, the Maiden Juvenile Handicap at Rosehill, ridden by Jack Baker a 17-year-old apprentice.

They spelled the horse for several months, then entered him in a series of races in which he moved up in class. The horse took second in the Chelmsford Stakes at Randwick on September 14, 1929 and the racing community started treating the horse with respect.

In the four years of his racing career, Phar Lap won 37 of 51 races he entered, including the Melbourne Cup in 1930 with 9st 12lb (61.5kg). From his win as a three-year-old in the VRC St. Leger Stakes until his final race in Mexico, Phar Lap won 32 of 35 races

Phar Lap came around at the time of The Great Depression of the 1930's, in those times there were no cash unemployment benefits. The 'dole' consisted of food rations often given to men who worked on special government projects such as making roads. People knew that to have a bet on him they would win their money back, bookies often would not take bets when Phar Lap raced.

After Phar Lap was almost shot at they decided that Phar Lap should race in America, he was shipped over there with Tommy Woodcock as Phar Lap's trainer.
On 20 March 1932,Phar Lap raced in The Agua Caliente Handicap and won.

After the win at Agua Caliente, Phar Lap was taken back up to San Fransisco to give him a rest and go through the many offers they where recieving for Phar Lap to race.

On Tuesday 5 April 1932, Tommy Woodcock awoke to find Phar Lap was in distress. His efforts to walk the champion failed to calm him down. Over the next few hours his condition only worsened. The vet was called but could do nothing. By then, Phar Lap could no longer stand. Around midday, with his head in Woodcock's arms, Phar Lap died.

There where many who thought that the Americans had poisioned and killed Phar Lap for they where bound to loose alot of money as Phar Lap's trainers could not be bought.

Most of Australia grieved with the death of Phar Lap, letters sent to Harry Telford to say how sorry they where that Phar Lap had died.

Following his death, Phar Lap's heart was donated to the Institute of Anatomy in Canberra and his skeleton to the New Zealand's National Museum in Wellington. After preparations of the hide by a New York City taxidermist, his stuffed body was placed in the Australia Gallery at Melbourne Museum.

A few good sites to go too Phar Lap Muesum Victoria

Poem

I hate cockroach's and last night as i was walking to my bed barefoot i trod on a dead one which made my hop about a bit and think bad things, to get the thoughts out of my head i wrote a poem about it so i could go to sleep and stop thinking about the dead cockroach.

If you really dont like cockroachs dont read this,
as i was writing it, it brought back memories of me treading on it....

the crunching sound
under my foot
makes me scream
as down i look
to see two eyes
on a body now dead
it makes me wonder
how long it lay there
with my hand over my mouth
to stop the bile
from rushing out a thousand miles
i grab a broom
trying to cover my eyes
and bend to sweep up
what was not a good surprise

Playing WoW

A new part of WoW has come out today called Wrath of the Lich King and now people can get from level 70-80, they can also make a Deathknight character, which i have done, i called mine Dnight original i know its not.

Instead of really writing anything in my blog i have been playing WoW and getting some of the achievements that they now set done, i got one of them done which is to explore all of WoW, Horde and Alliance side.

I got that done around 2 days ago, but the game kept getting maintenance done for Wrath of The Lich King.

But i did get to catch up on alot of other stuff i had been putting off, so there was a plus side to it.

Alot of people of course will be rushing to get to level 80, i will be taking my time and annoying everyone on the way as they wait for me to get to 80 hehehe.

This time though i have 2 other characters to get to level 80 after my main character gets done.

Loads of people are all excited about leveling and all that, but for some reason i cant find the excitement to it, maybe it will come to me, but for me at the moment its all BLAH..

If anyone is interested in playing
WoW, they do have a 10 day guest pass

Japanese Love Dolls

I found this article on the net and previously i have seen a documentry about Japanese men and the Love Dolls they can buy.

There is a video by Reuters explaining how the dolls where first made around 30 years ago for handicapped men, now anyone can buy them.

One man called Ta-Bo, has dozens upon dozens of dolls, many of which are carefully arranged on his living room sofa patiently awaiting his return from work. (He says "hi" to them when he walks in!)

Ta-Bo has spent over $170,000 (USD)on his collection (dolls can cost as much as $6,000(USD) each), he owns dolls with various haircolors and facial features.

As Ta-Bo explains "A human girl can cheat on you or betray you sometimes but these dolls never do those things. They belong to me one-hundred percent."

Now a Japanese man has enlisted hundreds of people in a campaign to allow marriages between humans and cartoon characters, saying he feels more at ease in the "two-dimensional world."

Marriage is meanwhile on the decline as many young Japanese find it difficult to find life partners.

Taichi Takashita launched an online petition aiming for one million signatures to present to the government to establish a law on marriages with cartoon characters.

Within a week he has gathered more than 1,000 signatures through the Internet.

He has listed no contact details, making it impossible to reach him for comment to explain if his campaign is serious or tongue-in-cheek.
But some people signing the petition are true believers.

"For a long time I have only been able to fall in love with two-dimensional people and currently I have someone I really love," one person wrote.

"Even if she is fictional, it is still loving someone. I would like to have legal approval for this system at any cost," the person wrote.

Japan only permits marriage between human men and women and gives no legal recognition to same-sex relationships.

Japan's fans of comic books, or "manga," sometimes go to extremes.

Earlier this month, a woman addicted to manga put out an online message seeking to kill her parents for asking her to throw away comic books that filled up three rooms.

Prime Minister Taro Aso is an avid fan of manga and recently complained that he has been too busy to read comic books since taking office.

Johnny O'Keefe, The King of Australian Rock n Roll

I was watching a Documentary about a great Australian singer from the 1950’s - 1970’s, his name was Johnny O’Keefe; he was know by either J OK or "The Wild One.

He was and will always be The King of Australian Rock n Roll, before most people thought Elvis Presley was the king of rock.

Born in 1935 Johnny O'Keefe, he was a major figure in establishing rock'n'roll and pop music in Australia.

He was the first Australian rocker to win a recording contract, and was the first Australian artist to ever make the Australian Top 40 charts, with 'Wild One'.

He was the first Australian rock artist to be signed by, and record for, a major international label - the US Liberty label.

Out of that association came three Australian Number One hits, and a Number Four hit.
His 1959 recording 'Shout' became the Australian Rock 'n' roll' National Anthem.

His biggest hit 'I'm Counting On You' spent a staggering ten weeks on top of the Sydney Top 40 Charts in 1961.

His last hit 'Mockingbird' topped the Australian charts in 1974, despite initially being rejected by radio stations preferring an inferior US version.

He pioneered teenage music shows on radio and television.

He was the first Australian rock'n'roll artist to have his own national radio program ('Rockville Junction' on ABC Radio) and, was the first Australian rocker to have his own weekly national television program, 'Six O'Clock Rock' on the ABC.

In fact, he ultimately compared four television programs.

Johnny gave many Australian artists including Diana Trask, Olivia Newton John, Helen Reddy and Peter Allen the opportunity to gain invaluable experience on television before heading overseas. Many Australian performers owe their start on television to O'Keefe. They in turn paved the way for today's Australian artists to be accepted overseas.
Despite not achieving international fame himself, Johnny still toured America in 1960, performing in 36 major cities and appearing on top rating television shows - all firsts for an Australian entertainer.

Johnny O'Keefe's life was not only a series of great highs, but also of many lows.
A near fatal car crash in 1960 not only affected him physically, but it also had a huge psychological impact.

He suffered a series of highly publicised nervous breakdowns through the early 1960s and these saw him undergo electric shock treatment and lengthy periods in institutions, including Ryde Psychiatric Centre.

Despite being written off by critics, fans and many in the industry, Johnny demonstrated an amazing capacity to bounce back at different times through the 1960s and 1970s.

He sadly passed away 6 October 1978
Johnny O'Keefe was the younger brother of Australian jurist Barry O'Keefe (a former head of the New South Wales ICAC) and the uncle of comedian and TV presenter Andrew O'Keefe To read more about him you can go to this website Johnny O'Keefe

Weird Dream

I had this really weird dream last night and when i woke up the muscles in my legs are a little sore.

I dreamt that i was out with some friends in Sydney and that i had to get back to where i live, it was getting late and i was wondering when my friends would be moving to get home, around 2am i ask them when are they going to leave and they tell me that they are going to wait for the trains to start working and catch a train home, i tell them that i can get them home easier and if they want they can come with me, they say no and I'm really getting angry with them as it is getting late.

Now for the weird bit, i grab my bag and some other things and i start to fly, i am flying like i am doing a breaststroke in swimming, i loose myself in tunnels, and people start to look for me in the sky.

What at the start i think would take me less than an hour ends up taking me 2 days as my legs get tired.

I woke up though before i got home.

Gee i sometimes have weird dreams, does anyone else have dreams like this or is it just me?

Not really wanting to write

I haven't felt like writing anything in here even though i wrote at the start i would try to add something every day.
I have things i can write about, but i think after i couldn't use the computer properly and being able to only use dial up i couldn't be bothered to write.

My connection was placed at ADSL1 to see if i could get a stable line, which i do, i get disconnected maybe once per day, so I'm not exactly sure what is happening

From memory what the ISP told me is that the modulation of ADSL2 is struggling to get through, I'm not sure what they have to do about it, and i suppose i should ring them back and get it worked out, but after not having the net and catching up on stuff and seeing what the modem is doing i haven't done so yet, i will probably ring them tomorrow and tell them what is happening, then hopefully this whole fiasco will be over..

New ISP

I changed my ISP company and i sorta now have it working, it disconnects every now and then, and i was told to look at the lights on the modem when it disconnects, if the DSL light keeps flashing then it means that the phone line has a problem but if the DSL line stays solid till the PPP light comes back on it means then that there is a problem with the modem.

For the past 30 mins i have been doing a few things on the internet catching up on a fair bit of stuff that i cant do or hate to do on my laptop which only has dial up, as my nephew went and bought me a prepaid dial up card. (dial up is so slow after broadband)

It seems that the internet company has sent me a faulty modem, as the DSL light stays solid most of the time, only flashing for the connection to come back. So it means i need to ring internet company again tomorrow and get them to send me another modem im guessing.

Oh the fun of changing companies

On a sad note last Thursday night a person who i knew was burnt to death in a caravan in her parents backyard, she will be sorely missed even though i didnt know her well she left a lasting impression on me

Using Dial up, no Broadband Connection

Im sitting here using dial up at the moment, i changed internet companies and cant get the internet to work, so i went a bought a prepaid dial up card till i can get my broadband working again.

This is my 2nd day without Broadband and it sucks big time

Im using my laptop as well as my desktop no longer has a modem.

Im not having much fun as i cant get online to play WoW and its Hallow ends, i am missing out on getting trick and treats so i can get all the masks to get a name after my name, i also dont get the chance to do the daily to get the mount that you can only get in Scarlet Monestry while Hallows end is on.

I got the dial up as i wanted to fill this in and also i feel lost without the internet dial up is not great but it is better than nothing

Different types of Men

There are many type of men around and i know people have preferences for different builds
I like men that look a little nerdy, and i like guys that have a little bit of weight on them, i like being able to cuddle into something, not hit bones.

I was seeing a guy years ago who was really skinny, he rarely ate when i was with him, but liked to watch me eat (very strange). I didn't stay with him very long as when i lent into his shoulder i would hit the collar bone which stuck out alot, not very comfortable and i used to use a cushion to lean on him which defeats the purpose i think.

I think the guy who plays Betty's boyfriend Henry Grubstick (Christopher Gorham) in Ugly Betty is really cute, there are many other men over the years who i have thought are cute, which I'm sure other women/men might not think they are

Its lucky that everyone in the world thinks differently i think.

My pet bird

I have a pet bird called Cello, he is a Cockatiel, for the past few weeks i have noticed that he needed to have his claws cut as when he is sitting on my shoulder they dig into me.

Talking to a friend last night he told me how i should hold the bird with a towel to cut his nails, i did it today but it was so horrible doing it. Poor Cello was flying around screaming at me for trying to catch him, i finally got him and covered his head so he couldn't bite me anymore and cut his claws a little bit, making sure i didn't cut down to far.

I think it was close to as stressful to him as it was to me, he is now sitting on my shoulder but is a little more subdued that he normally is, but i did get his nails cut and he dosent seem to hate me

Someone wanted me to wake early

I work at night so often go to bed early hours of the morning, this morning at 6am the first thing i hear is my nephews alarm going off, he cant get out of bed when it first rings, he rings over and over again, the alarm is his mobile phone so i wake thinking its the phone ringing till i remember its his phone.

I get back to sleep and get woken at 9am by someone who lives next door to me trying to hammer something, to me it sounded like they where hammering the wall.

I so hate getting out of bed or waking till at least midday, i think it was a conspiracy to wake me up today and make me feel tired all day. As it is i have a few hours of work to do from home before i can go to bed and i can feel my eyes so sleepy grrrrr
Only 9 more days and nephew leaves, counting down the days hehe

What i did today

I missed a day of my Blog, Ive been a bit busy and had some other things on my mind.

Today i got up earlier than usual, i had to be somewhere so only had 5 hours sleep last night. Where i had to go was to a thing called Speak Out, it is an activity that is held monthly at different places in my local area.

What speak out does is gets the local community together for a barbecue and fete, when getting a barbecue you had to get a ticket and write on the ticket what you think the area needs, this information is then collected by someone who works for the local council, from this information she collates it all and sees if the same things come up, then information is then handed to other council members to see if we can get some of these activities or suggestion working in the area.

The reason i was there is that i am asked to write about the day and also take pictures of the day, it is fun but it is also tiring.

I like doing quizzes now and then and found this one to do which is "What type of nerd are you"

I know im a nerd, but im not a computer nerd, i dont see anything wrong with being a nerd at all people are different and we where made this way or the world would be a boring place to live

After doing the test this is what i got

You have to look down a bit for some reason i cant move it up grrrr

What Be Your Nerd Type?
Your Result: Literature Nerd

Does sitting by a nice cozy fire, with a cup of hot tea/chocolate, and a book you can read for hours even when your eyes grow red and dry and you look sort of scary sitting there with your insomniac appearance? Then you fit this category perfectly! You love the power of the written word and it's eloquence; and you may like to read/write poetry or novels. You contribute to the smart people of today's society, however you can probably be overly-critical of works.

It's okay. I understand.

Patch 3.02 in World of Warcraft

Today starts a new day for World of Warcraft patch 3.02 has arrived, the game is getting ready for the new part of WoW , Wrath of the Lich King.

You can now go and get your hair changed (different colour and cut), there are new talent trees, you have to re-learn for pets and any mounts you had, loads and loads of different things to now do.
You cant get to Northrend yet of course, but the areas where you will need to go are there, for Alliance the area to get to Northrend is in Stormwind, you can go to where the ships are which will take you to Northrend, so new things to do and new things to see.

Of course loads of people didnt read any of the information Blizzard had added before you got into the game and loads of questions are being asked of how to do certain things.

All you really need to do is look at your character sheet and most of what you need is sitting there.

All about Northrend

Lazy is me

I made a plan that i would try to write something on this blog every day this month, and well it has been getting pretty hard to do it with working and bringing work things home with me to do and of course playing World of Warcraft.

I am filling this in now while i can think of something to write about, i know i have been lazy by finding pictures or stories and just adding them to my website, but it all i had time for, as it is i should be doing something else right now, but i am doing this instead.

All silly things running around in my head, like i just noticed that one of my nails has a small crack in it, down in the quick, so i am going to have to either cut my nail or leave it as it is, if i cut it i will have a short nail again, if i leave it long will be in pain when it breaks, i think i will decide later what to do, i will probably cut it as i dont want the pain from it grrr

So there you go some ramblings that are in my head at the moment ciao

Worlds smallest horse

She may be small, a mere 17 inches and weighing only 60 pounds. But she is all horse.Born as a dwarf to a miniature horse, Thumbelina is officially the world’s smallest horse.
Thumbelina has been officially recognized as the world’s smallest horse. That title was conferred on her in 2006 when the five-year-old entered the Guinness Book of Records.
Normally these horses weight about 250lb and rise to a height of 34 inches when they are fully grown.

She weighed in at only 8lb – the size of a new-born baby - when she was born. Eventually she grew to just 60lb. Her size has been explained as dwarfism.

She likes to hang out with the cocker spaniels rather than the other horses on their 150-acre farm.

She lives on a cup of grain and a handful of hay, served twice a day.She is expected to live to the age of 17 years because of her size – normal horses live for about 35 years.

Neighbours son's party

Today i went to my neighbours place as it was her sons 5Th birthday, the son gets excited when he sees me and had to show me a toy truck he had got, i stood there listening to his fantasy how the truck was going to fly up in the sky and shoot things, i love when kids still have their imagination and love listening to him.

My neighbours are Lebanese and I'm Australian, they of course speak English around me, but when they have relatives over some of them don't speak English, so i spend most of the afternoon listening to them speaking Lebanese or i talk to their children which of course speak English. I have learnt a few words though like how to say no, i cant remember what yella means though, but the often say it, oh well doesn't matter

The kids had a jumping castle in the backyard, made me wish i was a child so i could go in and jump around in it, the kids where asking me to go into it, I'm grown up now and maybe if i was child size i would have gone in hehehehe

While gone i left 2 of my nephews in my house (19, 22) and of course when i come back the house has stuff everywhere.
Only 2 1/2 more weeks and my 22 year old nephew moves out hooray!!!!!!

No sex is secret to long life

I found this article while surfing the net and it caught my eye.

Most people will say the reason for their old age is to not smoke, drink alot of water or moderate exercise.

Well it seems this lady Clara Meadmore who is 105 has lived a life of celibacy.

Miss Meadmore says she has always been too busy for relationships and thought of physical intimacy as a 'hassle'.

Miss Meadmore was born in Glasgow in 1903, two years after the death of Queen Victoria. She remembers hearing about the sinking of the Titanic in 1912 and the outbreak of the First World War. Her family emigrated when she was seven, first to Egypt, then Canada and later New Zealand. But Miss Meadmore returned to Britain alone in her twenties and worked as a secretary and housekeeper.

Miss Meadmore said 'Everything seems so fast these days. I don't know a lot about young people or the way they do things. I'm sure it's very different. I made my mind up at the age of 12 never to marry and I've not gone back on that.'

What do you want to be when you grow up

I was talking to an online friend who lives in Romania and it came up about what did you wanna be as a child when you grew up?
Hers was that she wished to visit Australia, i live in Sydney Australia, and talk about a few things that are here. She did travel with her husband and live in America for around 2 years, but moved back to Romania around 2 months ago.

What i wanted to be when i grew up was to be a nurse or a princess, i think alot of females wanted to be a princess.

The reason i wanted to be a princess i imagined that i would walk around in really pretty fairytale dresses

Of course i didnt become a princess and i dont really wanna be one now, but isint it wonderful as a child the imagination you can have

Looking my age

I was sitting in the doctors office today for my usual checkup and was talking to someone that i sorta know (to say hello to), chatting away and it came up about age.

I know my whole life i have been told i look younger than i am but i thought i looked out of my 20's now.

This person told me that i looked around 28 years old, i laughed and told her i am 44, her first reaction was, where is your grey hair, i had to then point it out to her..

To me im sure i dont look 28 years old, i dont have the fresh looking skin i think younger people do have, or maybe its that women who are 28 look older who knows.

I have a joke i say to people at times when they tell me i look younger than i do,
"with the age defying cream that says it will let you look years younger, i better not use it or i may look 10"

Good to know that i dont look my age though

My Aim and Pencils

This month i am going to try to write something on my blog every day. OK i have missed a few days at the front, but i am now organised and can get to the computer (nephew has been playing some game called Gunz. I have a laptop but he dosent like playing on that one as this computer is 21 inch screen and laptop is 15 inch hehee)

I have a list of things i can write about, only about 15 so far, but thats a start and i might find things day to day to write about so i should be able to do it easily.

Just have to hope that i dont use all my ideas for the future otherwise this blog is gonna get very boring.

In one of my previous blog messages (Ever Wonder) i wrote about how i wonder certain thing work and why they are as they are, i was thinking the other day how do they make pencils (1), and why are they made to that size?(2)

(1) A machine cuts eight grooves, half as deep as the graphite-clay rod is thick, into the slats, and then places rods in each groove.
Once the rods are in place, a second grooved slat is glued on top of the first.
When the glue dries, the slats are fed through a cutting machine that cuts the wood into various shapes and divides the slats into eight separate pencils.
The seams where the two slats are joined are sanded down and several coats of paint are applied to the pencil, giving it the appearance of a solid structure. More information on How Stuff Works

(2) Cant find anything about the size, maybe someone out there knows...

Public Holiday, Labour Day

Today is a public holiday in South Australia (Adelaide) , Australian Capital Territory (Canberra) and New South Wales (Sydney) , the day is called Labour Day, it is also known as 8 hour day in other states.
The other states and territories have it on other days,
March 3 2008 Western Australia (Perth)

March 10 2008 Tasmania (Hobart)
March 10 2008 Victoria (Melbourne)

Labour Day is celebrated at different times in Australia because each state achieved the 8 hour day on different dates.

Labour day is to celebrate the achievements of organised labour on behalf of the worker to bring about the 8-hour day in the late 1850s.

Previously workers were required to work long hours each week . . . 10 to 12 hours a day six days a week. While a change was made to the hours worked each day, the five day work week we enjoy today took almost a century longer to be adopted finally in 1948.

Daylight Savings in Sydney

Today daylight savings started in ACT (Canberra), New South Wales (Sydney), South Australia (Adelaide), Victoria (Melbourne). It will end 5th April 2009

The clock has now gone an hour forward, it stuffed me around a little today, i got up earlier than i would have.

The one problem i will be having is the computer game i play World of Warcraft, the people who are in the guild i with are mainly from Singapore and Malaysia, so now i will be 3 hours ahead of them which will make going to raids and such harder for me to do

Chia Pets

While playing World of Warcraft a friend was going on about grass, i wont say how the conversation went as it was weird but i said to him that maybe he could be a Chia Pet, i got "huh", "a what", and other responses. Made me feel my age so i thought for other people who dont know what a Chia Pet is i would write about them.

A Chia Pet is basically grooved terra cotta figurine body. It came in many shapes like a cat, dog, frog, hippo, a head and many other shapes.

What you do is you got the Chia Pet body and had to soak the body in water for 3 - 5 days, after that you could add the seeds. The seeds the seeds sprout, having formed a gelatinous coat that adheres to the Chia Pet's body. Go to Wikipedia to read more about them

The popularity has since gone but you can still buy Chia Pets to this day.
You could use it to grow fresh herbs, each time you add the new seeds you could choose a different type

Different cars ive had

I was talking to a friend of mine the other day and she was saying how she wishes she could buy a new car one day, and how she loves the car that i have now a 2003 5 door Holden Barina

It got me to thinking of the different cars i have had over the years

I didnt get my licence till i was 23 years old, i tried to get my licence when i was around 19 years old but failed it, it would have been useless for me to get my licence anyhow as i didnt have the money to buy a car

The first car i bought was a 72 TC Ford Cortina, it was 6 cyclinder car and went pretty fast, as the car was old it didnt have many addons so was mainly a tin car, but i loved my first car, i could drive fast in it and it was comfy to drive.

After i had worked for awhile i decided to go buy another car, at the time i had a boyfriend who i thought knew about cars, little was i to know he knew nothing and i ended up buying a 85 VK Holden Commodore, the car had problems with it mainly from the start, it had never had any work done on it and i didnt want to keep the car anymore so a friend made a deal with some other people who bought the car from me for less than it was worth, plus the car she was driving (i told them i was selling the car cheap cause of the problems and the womens husband was able to work on it)

The car i got a 75 TD Ford Cortina, this car i loved as well, but it got stolen, so i went through a few months without a car to get myself out of debt and to be able to buy my next car

My next car a 79 VB Holden Commodore, this was a favourite of mine, it went fast and sounded good plus i hardly ever had problems with it, having to just give it a service twice a year, one day while driving an idiot hit my car opening the front of the car like a tin can, a few weeks after that the gear box died (automatic). After ringing the Insurance Company we decided to make the car a right off, meaning it wasent worth fixing the car and that i got money instead

Which then leads to my 92 Nissan Pulsar Vector, by this time the cost of petrol was getting high so i went to driving a 4 cyclinder car, it was a pretty good car, the first car i had with electric windows which cost loads of money to fix grrr

In 2002, my mother passed away wanting to buy something that i think my mother would approve of i ended up buying a new car so that i would have a car for quite a long time and not have to worry about buying a car again for a few years

The car i bought is a 03 Holden Barina, this has all the mod-cons like electric windows, mp3 player and all that, like sure it is a nice car and all, but to me its a girly car and it is quite boring.

I still remember hot days of hooning around in my 6 cylinder cars, in this car i cant, but i suppose it is time to grow up

Words and Thoughts

Do you ever have thoughts going around in your head, but cant find the words to explain the thoughts, or how the thoughts should be seen.

Thats is happening to me at the moment.

Usually at times like this i can write stuff down like a short story or a poem, but the words dont want to show themselves so i am stuck with these thoughts just moving around grrr

Well i wrote this yesterday and i was able to get the thoughts out of my head and this is what came out last night

words that tumble through my brain
they have no meaning
and are not profane
they are some feelings
that want to come out
but have no substance
or any clout
its hard to put these feelings to words
im not even sure
how to explain or observe
trying my best
to capture the sounds
but they escape me
in leaps and bounds
i hope you see my quandry
and one day i will be free
to explain these feelings
that are inside of me

Make a Southpark character

I was reading someone's website and they had about how you can make your own Southpark Character so i went to the page and this is what i made.

You start of with the same body shape but you can choose what colour you want your character to look like, you choose the eyes, mouth, clothes, hair, jewellery, if you want your character to wear gloves all those sort of things

My character is basically all purple as i love the colour purple, and no i dont look anything like this picture, maybe the freckles hehehe

I had great fun doing it, imagine if it was a rainy day and you were trying to entertain a child, with this you could probably spend 15 mins or more doing it

Ever Wonder??

Do you ever wonder why life is what its like, eg why is grass called grass or why is the sky up, who chose the words to say that above us is up -why was the word down not chosen im not sure, but over time i have had some questions ive always wondered answered.

Below is some of what i have wondered:

.....................................................................Why are traffic lights Red, Amber and Green, why was green chosen as the colour go, I can understand red, as to me Red means danger, but the others im not to sure, i found out the answer to this a few years ago and thought others might wonder as well
Green is calming to us, probably because it is prolific in nature and a sign of health and abundance, so it might have lent itself to mean "go."
Amber is associated with warmth, happiness, and the sun. Despite these connotations, it was chosen to symbolize "caution."

....................................................................Who named the Planets -They believed that each of these celestial bodies influenced a particular day of the week.

...................................................................Why is there a leap year and why 365 days in a year - Leap years are needed to keep our calendar in alignment with the earth's revolutions around the sun.

..................................................................Why do some people have curly and some straight is there a reason - the position of the hair bulb in the hair follicle, the way the large bundles of keratin are arranged within each hair shaft.

.................................................................Why do people have different coloured skin (no im not being racist, each skin colour is beautiful in its own right)- my belief is cause of the country people live in and the amount of sun and cloud, people with darker skin live in countries that are hotter and have more sun, so the skin dosent get as much dammage, where people who have white skin live in countries that have less sun and get sunburnt easily.

The one question i cant find an answer for at the moment is why is a window called a window, does it have something to do with the wind, and a window has dow in it??
.
