Another Pincushion

With buying material to do craft over Christmas break im trying to find small things to make, previously i had shown 2 Pincushions ive made which i wasent very happy about.

This time i used a different pattern i found on Polka Dot Pineapples page

This is the one i made, its a flower
with the
pincushion the part in the
middle.
It has a stick underneath which
you cant see is this photo, with the
stick being there the pincushion can
be placed inside the hole on a reel of
cotton so you can get to your pins
easily while sewing

Cute test

Exercise of the brain is as important as exercise of the muscles. As we grow older, it’s important to keep mentally alert. If you don’t use it, you lose it!

Below is a very private way to gauge how your memory compares to the last test. Some may think it is too easy but the ones with memory problems may have difficulty.

Take the test presented here to determine if you’re losing it or not.

The spaces below are so you don’t see the answers until you’ve made your answer.

OK, relax, clear your mind and begin.

1. What do you put in a toaster?
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

Answer: ‘bread.’ If you said ‘toast’ give up now and do something else. Try not to hurt yourself.
If you said, bread, go to Question 2.

2. Say ‘silk’ five times. Now spell ‘silk.’ What do cows drink?
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

Answer: Cows drink water. If you said ‘milk,’ don’t attempt the next question. Your brain is over-stressed and may even overheat. Content yourself with reading more appropriate literature such as Auto World. However, if you said ‘water’, proceed to question 3.

3. If a red house is made from red bricks and a blue house is made from blue bricks and a pink house is made from pink bricks and a black house is made from black bricks, what is a green house made from?
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

Answer: Greenhouses are made from glass. If you said ‘green bricks,’ why are you still reading these??? If you said ‘glass,’ go on to Question 4.

4. Without using a calculator – You are driving a bus from London to Milford Haven in Wales . In London , 17 people get on the bus. In Reading , 6 people get off the bus and 9 people get on. In Swindon , 2 people get off and 4 get on. In Cardiff , 11 people get off and 16 people get on. In Swansea , 3 people get off and 5 people get on. In Carmathen, 6 people get off and 3 get on.
You then arrive at Milford Haven ..

Without scrolling back to review, how old is the bus driver?

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

Answer: !
Don’t you remember your own age?
It was YOU driving the bus!!

Seems Seller beware accepting payment by PayPal

A person had a antique pre-WWII violin and decided to sell it on Ebay and payment was made through PayPal it seems to not have been a very good idea as when they sold it the person who they sold it to thought it was a fake.

Contacting PayPal the buyer was told to destroy violin take a photo and they would get their money back.

The seller meanwhile says there is no such thing in the violin world as a “counterfeit” violin, and the labels often mean little and there is often disagreement over them. Some of the most expensive violins in the world have disputed labels, but they are works of art nonetheless.

It seems that PayPal have in their dispute resolution that PayPal may ask you to destroy the item to get a refund. This im not so sure about why would you destroy something and then ask for the money back.

The seller of course was angry which i would have been as they were now out of the Violin and $2500. It seems the buyer was proud of himself as he sent the seller a photo of the destroyed violin

Love my Neighbours

Even though i have family i rarely get to see them especially on events like Easter and Christmas, they are usually of doing their own things.

When i moved where i live now i used to be afraid of my neighbours across the road as they are Lebanese Moslem after awhile the person who lives next door to me took me over and introduced me to them, that seemed to be my lucky day.

Since then the family have gone out of their way to make sure i am never alone on Christmas Day, they help celebrate my birthday and Easter of course.

They have 6 children ranging from 20 to 1 year old and im invited to the birthday parties when they are on or even if they are just having a barbecue, if they dont see me for a few days they are ringing me to see that i am ok, or just inviting me over i guess cause im alone but who knows, its great knowing they are there for me, the husband has helped me a few times with my car with changing the wheel and battery, anything they can do to help me they will go out of their way to do.

At the start i did say they make sure im there on Christmas Day, even though they are Moslem they love to celebrate Christmas sometimes having a big dinner like old time Australians would have with the roast chicken roast vegetables, one year i took over Christmas bonbons they had never used them in their life and had great fun when i showed them what you do with them.

They are not really any different to every other nationality, when i talk with the husband we talk about being a Moslem and how not every Moslem is bad which i have seen for myself.

Im writing this to show that even though they are Moslem dont hate them for their religion underneath it all this family are just the same as mine.

Air Conditioning

Last year i bought a Portable Air Conditioner to use next to my computer as i spend a fair amount of time there, each previous year it has got really hot so i thought hmm i will be ready and got mine in October of last year, of course it then didn't get hot enough for me to use it till today.
I now get to sit in a nice cool room without sweat pouring of me and feeling like i need a shower after i just had a shower.

I live in an upstairs unit so its hotter than if i lived downstairs and it seems to be cooling the room down to a comfortable temperature

The brand i got was Convair Portable Reverse Air Conditioner Cool and Heat 15000BTU it is a great unit not very noisy, cools the room down really well as well as looking sleek, I have had previous portable air conditioners and the noise from them was really bad not being able to hear people speak without shouting.

If anyone is looking to buy an Portable Air Conditioner buy one of these and you wont sorry.
