Cakes in WoW

When it was my birthday the other day this guy who lives in Singapore gave me 3 cakes for my birthday in World of Warcraft when i asked him why i was given three he explained to me what they meant:
  • 1st everyday's happy

  • 2nd everyday's beautiful

  • 3rd hope your rider will come and pick you up one day and forever happy living together

I thought some other people might like to know this as before i was given the cakes i knew nothing about this, and i find it sweet...

Felt like crying

Today i was doing some shopping and saw the one of the people who bought my mums old house, saying i had a letter there and could i come and pick it up, (not sure why I'm still getting letters sent there mind you).

I have been to my old house quite a few times but today going there hit me, for some reason all these memories came back of when i was living there, how i used to go in the back door and imagining my old dog waiting for me in the front yard, how my parents spent all this money on the house and i was thinking how these people shouldn't be living in this house, how it is my house, not sure why these thoughts hit me, but i feel sad now....

My birthday in World of Warcraft

Yesterday was my birthday and other than having a few drinks i went and played World of Warcraft.
What i didnt know was that my new guild BBR had decided to celebrate my birthday.
We got to Booty Bay and where standing on a roof, i was wondering what we where doing here and thought oh well they will say so soon, maybe we are going to raid horde towns but.....
The next minute they started dropping cakes on the roof, putting down smoke streams and placing a glow thing for me to stand under, later they started throwing sparklers onto me, i felt all mushy and didnt know what to say and felt like crying with all that they did for me.
Then after that we had a race to Gurabshi Arena, as it was my birthday i got a ride in Maraxus's sidecar, it was great fun...
The guys from the guild probably wont read this as they dont know about my blog, but it was a great way to celebrate my birthday in WoW

Neighbours Ex-Boyfriend

On Sunday night i was outside having a smoke when i heard someone say hello to me, it turned out to be the ex boyfriend of the daughter who lives next door, he was taking down some blankets that have been in the neighbours backyard.

I started talking to him for a few minutes telling him how the dog Milo had gone and him saying that he cried that the dog had gone, and he wished that Milo was still there, mind you this is the first time ive seen him since last year.

Anyhow i saw the neighbour and said how i had seen the ex boyfriend and it seems that he had taken the blankets to have sex with a girl who was waiting in the park next to my house.

It seems that a neighbour down the road saw him taking the blankets and was wondering what he was doing and saw him with the girl and then seeing them starting to have sex, ewwwww.

This park mind you has people walking through it now and then as it is a path that joins up with more pathways to get through a few streets, imagine walking along there and seeing people having sex as your walking home.

The Time Travellers Wife

I finished a few days ago a book called The Time Travellers Wife, i read alot but i don't usually talk to much about books Ive read unless i really like them, and well i really liked this book, to me it seemed it had a bit of everything in it.
The book is about two people Henry DeTamble and Clare Abshire.

After i searched on the net i found out that this books has been made into a movie, I'm not to sure when it will be out, but i wonder if they can do the book any justice.

Henry and Clare first meet when Henry is 36 and Clare is 6

Henry is a time traveller although its not by choice. A genetic mutation causes him to spontaneously travel through time, disappearing from view, him leaving behind his clothes and possessions, then arriving naked in another time and another place. To survive Henry often has to turn to petty crime to feed and clothe himself when he travels, and must run from people, thugs, or the police, which is how he meets Clare for the first time, in a field behind Clare's house, throughout her younger years, Clare meets him there and falls in love with him.

Clare is a child and then a teenager with their secret rendezvous throughout the years in the meadow. Henry first visited her at an older age, so he knew the dates that the earlier versions of himself would visit the older versions of Clare.

In those early days of her life, Henry knew much about her future, but declined to tell it to her anything so things would go as they are supposed too, he does not want to change the future in any way.

Once Clare became an adult, she knew she had to wait to meet Henry in real time, and that he would be her lover. When they did finally meet, Henry in the present was a younger man, who had not yet traveled to the meadow to meet Clare. At this point, she knew parts of his future that he did not.

As Clare says in part of the book

Our life together in this too-small apartment is
punctuated by Henry's small absences. Sometimes he disappears unobtrusively; I
might be walking from the kitchen into the hall and find a pile of clothing on
the floor. I might get out of bed in the morning and find the shower running and
no one in it. Sometimes it's frightening

Time travelling does have some advantages though. Henry's mother died in a car accident when he was a small boy. He often goes back in time and gets to see her, although all he can do is watch from a distance.

The book is a heartfelt love story of two people who must live with this curse as part of their lives.

Some Australian Trivia

I like Trivia and knowing weird things that others dont know, so i thought i would share some Australian Trivia with you

The first Australian Aboriginal word in the English language was "kangaroo" and was used by Captain James Cook. The original spelling was "kanguroo

The first person to actually sustain controlled, powered flight was not one of the Wright brothers; It was Richard Pearse of New Zealand a few months before in a more advanced flying machine of his own design & construction. On 31-3-1902 he flew about 350 yards, and on 11-5-1903 flew over 1,000 yards, out of ground effect & including several turns.

The common refrigerator's system of cooling was invented in Australia, in the 1850's, by James Harrison. By 1857 his machine was making up to 3 tonnes of ice a day!

The original fifty cent piece in Australian decimal currency had around $2.00 worth of silver in it before it was replaced with a less expensive twelve sided coin.

The first Europeans to discover Australia were the Dutch. The first documented evidence is that in March 1606, the Dutch ship Duyfken, captained by Willem Janz, landed in far north Queensland, but left very quickly when one of the sailors was speared by an Aborigine. The next visit was in 1616, by Dirck Hartog, who landed in Western Australia. He nailed a pewter plate to a tree, which is now in a museum in Holland. Captain Hartog named the new country "Eendrachtsland", which fortunately we don't use these days.

The area of Australia that is covered by snow in winter is larger than the area of Switzerland.

A kangaroo's tail does not touch the ground when it is hopping at speed. The animal only uses the tail to balance its jumping efforts, and to rear upon when stopped.

Aspro is a very popular pain reliever used all around the world, and it was developed in Australia by George Nicholas, in 1917.

The first 'secret ballot' system for parliament in the world was introduced in the Legislative Council of Victoria, Australia, on 27-8-1856. The rest of the world took another few decades.

My previously annoying neighbours

What a difference a few months make...

People who had read my blog previously may have read about some annoying neighbours i had, telling me i had to park my car in a certain spot and stuff like that.

Well it seems that the girl and guy who where living below me have broken up.

A couple of weeks ago i heard the two of them arguing pretty badly, she screaming at him to get away from her car and hearing noises like he was doing something to the car, i heard her drive away after she was screaming with fright with her coming back around 5 minutes later to hear more arguing from the two of them

Today i went and visited one of my neighbours who also heard the fight and came over to break up the fight as things where getting a bit out of hand he said.
It seems what had happened was that she would do housework and stuff and he would do nothing, she would go away for a few days to come back to the house dirty.
Also she heard him talking to another girl on the phone confronting him about it, he had found himself another girlfriend and didn't want to be with her, but it seems he thought it was ok for her to still look after him.

So anyhow i now have a quiet neighbourhood again, as he is living with either his sister or his new girlfriend and his old girlfriend has moved out.
